Our Story
Make It Chic.com was launched in 2012 in Memphis, TN as a division of the interior design firm Grand Interiors & Designs. The owner, Dorothy Reives, is an award winning interior designer with over 20 years experience in residential and commercial design.
We have years of design experience in the commercial industry. We have renovated and furnished products for hotels, churches, dental offices, retail spaces, professional offices, US Government, State Government, University of Tennessee, Memphis; casinos, and home health care agencies.
Our mission is to offer you "more than the ordinary" while giving you STYLE, COMFORT and FUNCTION with a PERSONAL TOUCH. We have worked with many home owners and builders on projects involving home renovations, model homes, custom built homes and show homes. Our designers have traveled the Southeastern and Midsouth US regions including Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas and Georgia, assisting clients.
Dorothy's decorating and design work for a Memphis, Tennessee home builder in the local Vesta Home Show won the Best Interior Design Award in 2003, along with The Peoples Choice Award, and the Best of Show Award.
Her work with Grand Interiors & Designs and it's clents, has been featured in the Mid-South Living magazine and TV show, Memphis Magazine, Fix Magazine, Grace Magazine and in the Commercial Appeal newspaper. With a firm belief in "paying it forward", she also taught a course entitled Intro To Interior Decorating to help others "find the designer" in themselves.
In 2013, Dorothy launched a line of products for the Luxe Accents Collection of Make it Chic Home, our division that sells accessory pendants and decorative throw pillow covers. We are always searching for new ways to give your home that unique creative "finishing touch."
